Welcome Letter
Assalamu Alaykum Dear Parents and Students,
The AlManar School staff and I would like to extend to you a very warm welcome. We thank you for entrusting your child’s Arabic, Islamic & Qur’anic Studies education to us.
At AlManar School we follow a Humanistic and Constructivist philosophy of learning that believe in respecting the child and allowing him/her to discover and learn by constructing meaning to what they learn. Thus, we emphasize understanding, constructing meaning and enjoying education over Rote Learning.
In this packet you will find a staff and school information list outlining who our staff members are and their roles in the School, as well our 2007-2008 calendar of events and holidays and a snack commitment Form. You will also find the Parent/Guardian Handbook which provides information regarding the School’s policies and rules. Please make sure that you sign the last page of the handbook and the snack form and return them to the school office as soon as possible.
We wish you an enjoyable year at AlManar that is full of transferable learning (learning that can be applied to everyday life). We will all work hard to provide your child (ren) with the best education and environment an Islamic school can offer.
Dr. Hanada Taha-Thomure, Principal
2007-2008
