ADVANCED 1 LEVEL

Advanced 1 Level Curriculum - Outline of what students will be taught during the school year:

Arabic Studies

  • Students will learn how to read sentences and short paragraphs in Arabic.
  • Students will learn how to improve their Arabic writing.
  • Students will learn and be exposed to more grammar.

Islamic Studies

  • Students will discuss the Sirah of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) in great depth and have a clear understanding of life before and after Islam.
  • Students will gain in depth knowledge about the meaning of the 99 names of Allah (swt).
  • Students will review, in much greater detail than in the previous class, the main Pillars of Islam.
  • Students will review how to make Wudu, and learn, in greater detail, how to offer Salat.

  • Students will discuss some Hadeeths and dua'as related to the required behavior of Muslims.
  • Students will learn about the stories of the Prophets (Abraham, Ismaeel, Ishaq, and Saleh) and the holy cities of Islam ( Jerusalem , Mecca , Madinah, and the Garden of Paradise ).

Quranic Studies

  • Students will review, re-memorize and understand the meaning of the following surahs: Al-Hummazah, At-Takathur, Al Adiyat, Al-Qadr, Al-Alaq, At-Tin, Al-Lail, Al-Balad, and Ash-Shams.

Pre-Requisites for Advanced 1 Level- Outline of what students should know in order to enroll in this class:

  • Students should have successfully completed Level 3 at the Almanar Modern School or have passed the appropriate Assessment Exam.

Arabic Studies

  • Students should be able to read and write words in Arabic.
  • Students should be able to make simple sentences in Arabic.
  • Students should have basic knowledge of Arabic grammar (e.g. how to find a verb, noun, etc.).

Islamic Studies

  • Students should have a good understanding about the Prophet Mohammed's (pbuh) life.
  • Students should have a good understanding of the Pillars of Islam and the Pillars of Iman.
  • Students should have a basic understanding of the 99 names of Allah (swt).

Quranic Studies

  • Students should know at least the last 8 surahs from the Quran along with their meaning.

  • Students should know some words from the Quran.
