LEVEL 2

Level 2 Curriculum - Outline of what students will be taught during the school year:

Arabic Studies

  • Students will review the Arabic letters and the short sounds.
  • Students will learn vocabulary words that correspond to the letters.
  • Students will learn how to write different forms of the letters in the beginning, middle and end of the words.
  • Students will be taught conversational skills.
  • Students will learn colors, general concepts, (e.g. big and small, in and out, on and under, in front and behind, little and a lot, etc.) shapes and numbers from 1 to 30.

Islamic Studies

  • Students will discuss the life of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) and will be introduced to some of the 99 names of Allah (swt) and will memorize 1 or 2 of the names.
  • Students will be taught some basics on how to do Salat (Islamic prayers) and make proper Wudu.
  • Students will be taught one dua'a every week as well as review and study Hadeeths.
  • Students will go into great detail about proper Islamic manners, the Pillars of Islam, the Pillars of Iman, and Muslim celebrations, and the lives of other Prophets such as Adam, Nuh, Musa, and Isa (pbuh).
  • Students will discuss Al-Hajj, Al-Sawn, and Al-Zakah.

Quranic Studies

  • Students will be introduced to the following surahs: Al-Fatiha, An-Nas, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Masad, An-Nasr, Al-Kafirun, Al-Kawthar, Al-Ma'un, Quraish, and Al-Fil.
  • Students will learn the meaning and memorize these surahs.
  • Students will also learn the stories of those surahs (how the surahs came and the background of how they were revealed).

Pre-Requisites for Level 2- Outline of what students should know in order to enroll in this class:

  • Students should have successfully completed Level 1 at the Almanar Modern School or have passed the appropriate Assessment Exam.

Arabic Studies

  • Students should know the Arabic letters, short sounds and simple words.
  • Students should know the Arabic numbers from 1 to 20, shapes and colors.

Islamic Studies

  • Student should know at least one dua'a and one hadith.

Quranic Studies

  • Students should be able to recite at least three short surah's.
