PREP 1

Prep 1 Curriculum - Outline of what students will be taught during the school year:

Arabic Studies

  • Students will be introduced to the letters and sounds of the Arabic alphabet.
  • Students will learn basic vocabulary words that correspond to each one of the letters of the alphabet.
  • Students will be taught conversational skills.
  • Every month, students will be introduced to numerous basic themes throughout the year. These themes will be general ideas and concepts from our every day life such as the seasons, our family, school and animals.
  • Students will be introduced to basic math skills that will include concepts such as numbers (1-10), as well as basic shapes and colors.
  • Students will be practicing their hand eye coordination through various activities.

Islamic Studies

  • Students will be taught basic Islamic concepts such as the five Pillars of Islam, Allah's Creations, Prophets stories, Angels, Islamic holidays and celebrations, identity of Muslims, and many other concepts.
  • Students will learn one dua'a every month.
  • Students will discuss Islamic manners.

Quranic Studies

  • Students will be introduced to the short surahs from Juz-Aama which will include the following: Al-Fatiha, Al-Ikhlas, An-Nas, Al-Falaq, Al-Kawthar, Al-Asr, and An-Nasr.
  • Students will memorize the surahs as well as be introduced to the meaning of each one of the surahs.

Pre-Requisites for Prep 1 -Outline of what students should know in order to enroll in this class:

  • Prior to entering the Prep 1 class, students are not required to have any prior knowledge of Arabic, Islamic or Quranic studies.
